Armavir, Armenia – Sardarapat Football Club is thrilled to officially announce the formation of its professional football team.
In the upcoming 2025/2026 season, the team will compete in the Armenian First League. This marks a significant and responsible milestone in the club’s development journey and is just the beginning of more ambitious projects to come.
Sardarapat Football Club was founded in 2021 in Armavir by French-Armenian sports lawyer Sevan Karian. The club is built upon the methodology of RC Lens a team that competes in France’s Ligue 1.
Over the past four years, many children and teenagers from Armavir have had the opportunity to train under this methodology, and the most promising among them have repeatedly had the chance to travel to France for advanced training.
Today, academy graduates form an important part of Sardarapat’s professional team, which highlights the effectiveness of the academy’s work.
Club founder Sevan Karian emphasized that establishing a professional team was always a core goal, but: “It was important for us to reach that stage only after laying a solid foundation—establishing the academy, involving young players from Armavir, strengthening the implementation of the methodology, and more. I can now say that we’ve successfully completed that phase.” He also emphasized the club’s significance at the community level: “I can confidently say that the club has added a new color to the city, making football education accessible to local children and youth. The creation of a professional team was essential so they could demonstrate their potential at a professional level — establishing themselves in Armenian football and aiming for the international stage.”
As it joins the First League, Sardarapat is determined to achieve the best possible results and strengthen its position in Armenian club football.
The club will host its home matches at Armavir City Stadium, looking forward to fan support and fully dedicating itself to the game.
