Sardarapat FC Hosted Atlético de Madrid Camp for the Second Consecutive Year

From July 7 to 11, the Atlético Madrid Academy football camp was held at the Armavir City Stadium.

The camp was organized by Sardarapat FC. Staying true to its mission of making high-quality European football education accessible to Armenian children and youth, the club welcomed coaches from the Spanish giant’s academy for the second time.

The visiting coaches conducted a week of intensive training sessions based on Atlético’s academy methodology, adapting the program to the skill level and experience of the participants.

According to Anush Ananyan, General Director of Sardarapat FC, “one of the club’s core goals is to bring football education that meets international standards to Armenia, and this camp is an important step toward achieving that goal.”

The five-day camp not only offered a football celebration to nearly 70 participants but also became a unique experience of intercultural exchange. Children and teenagers took part in the camp not only from Armenia but also from Argentina, the United States, Russia, Switzerland, France, Iran, and several other countries.

One of the top-performing participants won a trip to Madrid to take part in a week-long training program at the Atlético de Madrid Academy.

Spanish coach Jorge Guillomi noted that “the most inspiring part of the camp was the children’s excitement for the game and, at the same time, their willingness to learn the values of Atlético Madrid. Programs like this help them develop not only as footballers but also as human beings.”

Sardarapat FC is committed to continuing its mission to serve as a bridge between Armenian and European football.

Earlier, the club announced the launch of its professional team, which will compete in the Armenia First League in the upcoming season—marking the beginning of its journey in Armenian club football.
